Experiencing a new state of mind at the ultimate festival to unwind: Glow Festival 2019 took place on sunny Sentosa island, giving festival goers a chance to reset, refresh, and recharge. The first ever AIA Glow Festival catered an experience like no other.
Under the Grand Cupola, Glowgetters flowed with internationally renowned guest yoga teachers, Marysia Do, and Laura Kasperzak and also got to experience over 30 different classes curated by Pure Yoga. Festival food was re-imagined into a healthier yet delicious feast, and an uplifting 5KM Charity Fun Run along Siloso and Palawan beach attracted over 10,000 runners! For every runner that crossed our FUNish line, $10 was donated to charity – that’s right! AIA proudly donated $100,000 to the Children’s Wishing Well!
That’s not all, as night descended, the Grand Cupola transformed into a psychedelic musical feast featuring international chart-toppers Lost Frequencies, Rudimental, Nina Nesbitt, and local favourite The Sam Willows.
We can’t wait to do it all again in 2020, bigger and better than ever!
AIA Glow Festival 2019 offered a unique experience for all ages with seven distinct yoga zones.
Under the magnificent Grand Cupola, Glowgetters got to learn from none other than the Queen of the handstand herself, Marysia Do (@marysia_do), and one of the biggest names in yoga with over a million followers on Instagram, Laura Kasperzak (@laurasykora).
Those weren’t the only things we had to offer! In addition to the mass yoga classes, practitioners of all ages and abilities tried their hand at our broad range of curated Yoga classes – including Specialised Yoga, Grounding and Strengthening, Dynamic Flow, Healing and Meditation, Kids and Family and more. Each zone offered an experience like no other and continued throughout the day amidst the breath-taking scenery and serenity of Sentosa Island.
At our 5km Charity Fun Run, our Glowgetters had the opportunity to do good and feel great.
No fun run would be complete without a high-five zone, so that’s exactly what we had to greet our runners as they completed the first leg along the panoramic beaches of Sentosa Island. A dance tunnel, and 16-piece Batucada Pop Band brought the fun to the run, spreading positive vibes and contagious energy across the whole 5km.
For every runner, $10 was donated to charity. With over 10,000 runners at our inaugural Fun Run, AIA donated $100,000 in support of Children’s Wishing Well – all because our Glowgetters ran with their hearts!
Thank you to everyone who joined us at AIA Glow Festival 2019, now who’s ready for the next one?
No festival is complete without a feast!
We partnered up with some of the top cafes & restaurants in Singapore to bring Glowgetters a mix of wholesome, vibrant, and delicious culinary creations.
International and local cuisines were given a healthy twist, enough to send our taste buds tingling and our stomachs singing for more. Renowned foodies – Three Buns by Potatohead, Dumpling Darlings, Don Ho, Juju Bar, and more, provided a not-your-usual festival food experience.
Superstar celebrity chef, Jeremy Pang from School of Wok, wowed onlookers with a healthy Dim Sum masterclass for aspiring culinary artists. Glowgetters even walked away with a free, signed copy of his book Chinese Unchopped. To make the deal even sweeter, all proceeds from the class were donated to Children’s Wishing Well, AIA’s adopted charity.
During the day, local talent treated festival goers to live music and entertainment featuring some of our favourite local buskers, The Staircase Duo, Wan from the Jukuleles, and JQ X ZUL.
As the sun descended, the Palawan beachfront was transformed into the ultimate musical destination with homegrown favourite The Sam Willlows kicking the evening off and our international headliners, Nina Nesbitt, Rudimental and Lost Frequencies got the crowd to sing and dance the night away.
